About Caitlin Moore, CMHC

Caitlin is a warm, collaborative therapist with a practical “get stuff done” edge.

She likes to strike a balance between allowing clients the space to verbally process & taking a more directive approach to help you get unstuck and reach your goals.

Caitlin Moore, CMHC, therapist at Soul Perch Counseling.

I am:

  • Fun! I love having a laugh with people I work with.

  • A “get stuff done” therapist, not a “sit and nod” therapist.

  • The therapeutic relationship is important to me. If our wounds were created in relationships, the healing has to be created in relationships, too. I would be honored to be part of your healing process.

  • I work well with people who have been in therapy before + those who have been afraid or reluctant to start/restart therapy.

  • I’m a human: I’m on my own growth & change journey too!

  • Validating while still able to help you recognize your blindspots.

  • Fascinated by how people think.

  • A lover of the mind and the human condition.

  • A constant learner & self-improve-r.

  • Non-judgmental.

  • Very hard to surprise when it comes to human behavior.

What I’m not

  • Just going to give you coping skills. I’ll teach you to cope in the meantime, but my goal is for us to work together to find and resolve the root issue.

  • If you’re not willing to look at the past I’m not the right therapist for you.

  • A know-it-all. If I don’t know something, then I will let you know so we can figure it out together.

  • A magician who can solve someone’s problems myself without their help.

  • An Executive Function (ADHD) Coach.

  • Going to push an agenda, a belief system, a values system, etc that doesn't align with yours.

  • Going to take a one-size-fits-all to therapy. I have various modalities I frequently use, but I’m not afraid to take ethical creative license to modify treatment approaches to best work for you.

  • I don’t write ESA letters as I’m not trained in the legal considerations.

I don’t work so well with those who…

  • Are seeking therapy for an unmanaged eating disorder

  • Have substance abuse or addiction concerns as the primary issue

  • Are seeking evaluation for custody or legal issues

  • Would be better served by a higher level of care than weekly therapy for their recent suicidal behavior

“Hope” is the thing with feathers:

“Hope” is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words And never stops at all

And sweetest in the Gale is heard. And sore must be the storm That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm

I’ve heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest Sea
Yet never in Extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

~ Emily Dickinson
