It depends on your goals and what you would like to work on. Some clients come weekly for just a few months, while others continue longer for deeper healing. Some find it helpful to eventually taper down session frequency to a monthly or as needed basis to maintain their progress. We customize the treatment timeline to your needs and preferences.

Teletherapy is a confidential, convenient, and effective means for attending therapy remotely from your home through a HIPAA-compliant video conference system. Teletherapy has been found to be as effective as in person therapy and can help provide easier access to working with the therapist who is right for you.
After scheduling an appointment, you will be provided with a link for the meeting. To make your teletherapy session go smoothly, the following are necessary:
A strong internet connection
A device with a camera, microphone, and speaker
A private space where you can talk freely
-
Because Caitlin Moore, CMHC is licensed in Utah, you must be within the state of Utah for the duration of each telehealth therapy session.

No. If you plan to seek reimbursement from your insurance company by submitting superbills, a diagnosis will be required. However, if you are paying privately and prefer to not have a diagnosis on record, we can move forward with therapy without one. Many of our clients, especially those in sensitive professions, find this gives them peace of mind, allowing them to be transparent in therapy without worrying how it might affect their career or future. Please reach out if you would like to discuss this further.

Soul Perch Counseling is an out of network provider, which means that we don’t bill insurance directly. We are happy to provide superbills that you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits.
Payment is accepted through all major debit/credit, FSA, and HSA cards. We also accept clergy pay. Payment is due at the time of service.
Choosing to work with a private pay therapist can offer some benefits:
Greater choice in selection of therapist: Private pay allows you more freedom in determining the right therapist for you. This may be due to a therapist’s specific training or just the right personality fit.
Greater choice in length and direction of care. Some insurance companies will approve a specific number of sessions or may not cover all forms of treatment, such as couples therapy, extended sessions, or EMDR intensives. Private pay therapy allows you and your therapist to determine the type, frequency, and duration of treatment to best meet your needs.
Increased privacy. Insurance requires a mental health diagnosis to be documented in your health record to determine if treatment is “medically necessary.” Sometimes this is what individuals want, but other times they are coming to therapy to discuss a short-term issue or do not want a diagnosis on their medical record.
Reduced therapist burnout: Low reimbursement rates by insurance companies often lead therapist to take on more clients than they would prefer. Private pay therapists are often able to carry a lighter client load. This benefits you by having your therapist be more mentally and emotionally present, and also can mean more availability for appointments.

Unfortunately, Soul Perch Counseling is not a Medicare/Medicaid provider. We are not allowed to treat Medicare/Medicaid clients even if they can pay for services out of pocket. Doing so would jeopardize your Medicare/Medicaid coverage.
